Teen Christmas Party

Back

On December 19th, 1999 the Emmanuel Baptist Church teen class had a Christmas Party at Doug and Sharon's house.

We started with the Traditional Christmas Pizza and Mt. Dew. The Gingerbread Brownie sure didn't last long Dinner was followed by a Movie ... The Toy That Saved Christmas from Veggie Tales.

The movie was followed by Gift Giving session.

Our time of growing was culminated in a couple rousing games. Like, Blow the Ping Pong Ball, Taboo, Build the Lego Tower, Shoot Lewis' dart gun at the poor defenseless puppets and Guestures. Some even played Foosball and Ping Pong.

What a blast!

While Sharon was slaving away in the kitchen on the chips and pizza ...
Heidi was serenading us with Christmas tunes on the Piano ...
Joe and Pumpkin (the cat) were resting ... getting ready mentally for the challenges that lay ahead of them.
Of course the food was a great success, so we settled down for a time of growth and bonding with the Veggie Tales classic ... The Toy That Saved Christmas.
When Mr. Nezzer fell off the cliff, I thought I saw tears in Sharon's eyes!
We decided that nothing can draw us closer than giving gifts from the heart. So at the last minute we passed the word to bring a special gift.
Some took great care in wrapping their gift to make sure that no damage could occur during transportation ...
Such special care in fact that no one could get the package open!
Some even took a few seconds before digging in to meditate on what the contents could be (or he's asleep, we aren't real sure which).
Some thought that they could wrap themselves as that special gift ...
What a gift it is though ...
Some wanted the anticipation of what the gift could be to last and last and last and last and last.

It's another box!
But, the anticipation was worth it ... a beautiful copper engraving our 16th president.
Other's waited patiently ... expectantly ...
Till at last the treasures of Gold could be opened.
I have a stocking cap that will match these great!!
Ping-Pong is good ...
Foos ball is good ...
But what is this?
And this?
Taboo! Don't say it ...
Don't fall Isaac
Guessing, Guessing ...
Hey, you can't just look through them and pick the ones you like!

Next, we hung puppets on the puppet theater and took turns shooting Lewis' dart gun at them.

Thank you for a great afternoon guys - you mean a lot to us!
